Decentraland 2.0 Coming October 22
đź“Ł The secret is out and the date for beta launch is set
Decentraland opened to the public in 2020 with a web explorer. Since then, Decentraland has transformed from an innovative concept into a leading virtual world.
But to prepare for the next phase, the technology needed an upgrade, a significant one.

Social Updates 🤝
DCL will be even more social! With an upgraded chat, in world Emojis, badge achievements and mini-games spread across the map, the community can bond with new friends over shared experiences.
Avatar and Profile Updates 🎨
Avatars have a new stylized look and feel with passive in-world interactions and advanced movement controls. And even Profiles and Backpacks got a little glow up.
Environment Updates 🌳
The new procedurally generated environment, updated lighting and sounds all make the world even more beautiful and fun to explore!
